WWO holds The Global Women Leaders Summit and China International Cultural Exchange Event came to a successful conclusion

China, May 14, 2026 — the China-International Cultural Exchange and Global Women Leaders Summit, jointly organized by the World Women Organization, the Embassy of Jamaica in China, and the Global Diplomats’ China Culture Night Committee, opened and concluded successfully in Suzhou. Centered on the theme “Mutual Learning of Civilizations · Women’s Collective Strength · Building the Future Together,” the summit gathered diplomats, international organization representatives, global women leaders, business elites, and cultural figures to explore cultural integration and women’s empowerment in driving global development.

The event featured welcoming remarks from the organizers, highlighting the summit’s mission to bridge cultures through dialogue and link women globally, promote Chinese traditional culture internationally, and empower women leaders worldwide. The World Women Organization emphasized eliminating gender barriers and enhancing women’s contributions across economic, social, and cultural fields.

Key attendees included Angela R., Director-General of the World Women Organization; Mr. Yves Leterme, former Prime Minister of Belgium; Mr. Arthur Williams, Ambassador of Jamaica to China; Mr. Mapaballo Lydia Mile, Ambassador of Lesotho; Ms. Paulette Bethel, Ambassador of the Bahamas; Sinisha Berjan, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Ahmed Mustafa F. Hafez, Director of the Arab League in China; Mr. Arlindo do Rosário, Ambassador of Cape Verde to China; and other senior diplomats.

Honorees included recipients of the International Friendship and Exchange Ambassador Award, such as Ms. Paulette Bethel (Bahamas Ambassador to China), Mrs. Jala Bernard Williams (Jamaica Ambassador’s Consort to China), Mrs. Gihan M. Abdelrahman (Arab League  Ambassador’s Consort to China), Mrs. Mapaballo Lydia Mile (Lesotho  Ambassador to China), Mrs. Carla Do Rosario (Cape Verde Ambassador’s Consort to China), Mrs. Jimmy Charity Patrick (Nigeria Ambassador’s Consort to China), Ms. Cindy Woodhouse (Chief of Iroquois Confederacy), Ms. Maria (Messenger of China-Africa Friendship), Ms. Li Hongmei (National Model Worker of China), Ms. Wang Yan (Social-Diplomacy Activist of China), Ms Xu Xiaomei (Executive Director of Women Entrepreneurs Commerce Chamber of All-China Industry and Commerce Federation), and leading social activists. The Regional Women’s Leadership Award went to entrepreneur Sun Shumei (Female Entrepreneur of China).

The summit promoted deep cultural exchange, practical economic cooperation, and grassroots diplomacy, while spotlighting women’s growth and global leadership, contributing to a shared future for humanity, global peace, and development.
