Director-General Angela R was invited as Guest of Honor and Keynote Address at the African First Ladies Peace Mission for Official Unveiling/Trophy Presentation in honor or her excellency, Dr. Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buharia, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Request for Collaboration/Sponsorship in hosting the Championship and Rural Empowerment. World Women Organization was also an official partner.
The organizer, the Office of the African First Ladies Peace Mission (AFLPM), thanked Director-General for her support and belief in women and girl-child’s protection and empowerment. They further expressed pleasure in hosting the 1st ever International Women Swimming Championship and Rural Empowerment.
On behalf of the Dato Hj Rashid Hasnon deputy speaker’s office of the Malaysian parliament, Director-General Angela conveyed greetings to the Nigerian people and best wishes to the First Lady and all those in Africa who have shown interest in and supported the development of Women.
Director-General Angela gave a quick review of WWO’s most recent event in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in September 2020. She also announced that WWO will prepare for the Global Regional Conference in December 2020 and the World Women Conference in 2020. Going forward, WWO put forward two Strategic plans: one for Women Entrepreneurs Alliance/Network, one for Action against Poverty.
“Peace and development are aspirations shared by all humanity. To achieve this, there must be harmony. Similarly, to Achieve Gender development and progress, there must also be Harmony. Therefore, I put forward gender harmony on the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration. Gender harmony is the foundation of human peace, and gender harmony is also the highest manifestation of gender equality.” Her resounding words received warm feedbacks from the audience and the organizer.
